First Person

Book, 2013.

A printed collection of “war stories” from video game players, curated from an Internet forum. The authors were prompted to talk about their most noteworthy confrontations, and their stories resembled those that real soldiers might tell upon returning from battle. However, like the games themselves and the depiction of war in traditional media, they are devoid of the horrors of real war; instead, they convey themes of honor, glory, sacrifice, and intrigue.
